Maglinao A study was conducted on the Developmental High School second year students’ understanding of photosynthesis to find out how these students who did not study advanced biology courses understand how the world functions in relation to photosynthesis and related concept. Five central concepts related to photosynthesis were studied: oxygen release by plants, respiration, autotrophic feeding, food and harnessing the sun’s energy.          The samples of seventy seven students were of two groups-the thirty four(34) second year high school students in the special science Curriculum and Forty three (43) General Revised Secondary Curriculum(GRSC) Students of the Developmental high School(DRS) in MSU-Iligan
